Hamlet is complex because of his tragic flaws. Many things about his attitude and how often his emotions are mixed around and he is very indecisive make him complex.

Hamlet is a complex character, because he is extremly indecisive. He stalls everything, and instead of thinking things through, he panics, and makes a scene. He does the opposite of what hes told. He doesnt know whether to kill Claudius or not. Hamlet is causing more people to turn against him, and is making people think hes not suited to be a king. He contemplates killing himself, and after so far choosing not to, hes been contemplating killing Claudius -Amber Dottoli

He is complex because he has so many flaws such as; guilt and grief, indecision, wanting of revenge, betrayal and many more. He also faces many struggles now because he has two people after him, Laertes and Claudius. The entire time he has been comtemplating life and death.
